Who we are
PlacementShield is a managed service that keeps bot sites out of Google Ads placements, with analyst review and reporting. PlacementShield is based in Spain, in the European Union, and follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can reach us at hello@placementshield.com.
This website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts are served from our own domain. The site is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect them from attacks.
When you email us
We use your email address and the content of your message to reply to you. If you send placement reports for a placement risk review, we use only the site domains and impression counts in it, and delete the files within 30 days after the review. The domains may be added to our shared database of checked sites, without any link to you or your account.
When you use the service
The PlacementShield script in your Google Ads account sends us:
- your Google Ads account ID;
- the site domains from your placement report, with impressions per day;
- the contents of the PlacementShield exclusion list in your account.
We never receive your budgets, bids, ads, keywords, conversions or any data about your customers. We use this data to decide which sites to exclude, to count the site checks in your plan, to prepare your reports, and to improve our shared database of bot sites. The shared database contains only site domains and our verdicts, never which account a site appeared in.
For your customer account we also keep the names and email addresses of your contacts, your company and billing details, and our notes from calls with your team.
Legal bases
- Providing the service and billing: performance of our contract with you.
- Security and improving bot detection: our legitimate interest in a reliable, secure service.
- Any marketing emails: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare, Inc. — website delivery, network protection and email forwarding.
- netcup GmbH (Germany) — server hosting; our server is located in the United States.
- Google LLC — our email inbox.
Where data is processed outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards provided by these companies, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
Account and billing data: while you are a customer, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Placement data from your account: up to 24 months after it was received. Verdicts in the shared database have no link to your account and may be kept longer.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict its use, or object to it, by writing to hello@placementshield.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority; in Spain this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell existing customers about important changes by email.
